Quality & Care
CARE TIPS
Do not wet Selenite, Celestite or Pyrite. These stones are quite soft and absorb water. Selenite will go quite dull and slowly wear away and lose its sheen. Selenite also scratches easily. Whilst its virtually impossible to prevent them from marking, please be gentle in your handling of the Selenite pieces. Pyrite and Celestite can disintegrate and break apart if they get wet so please remember to keep them as dry as possible. Calcite should not be immersed in water for long periods of time as it too can lose its sheen and lustre. Wetting and drying calcite is completely fine and safe to do.
CLEANSING METHODS
My favourite method of cleansing my crystals is in an open air balcony or space exposed to the elements. Sea air is very harmonising, as is the beautiful sunshine. Bathing under the Full moon is a well known cleansing method and one that I also do. Placing crystals in plants and preferably in a garden is very therapeutic to the crystals. I believe that they enjoy and need a few days at least of cleansing and time to recharge and regenerate, especially if they have been working steadily with the user. For pieces such as Selenite, Pyrite and Celestite, place by a window that gets direct sunlight so as to avoid the risk of them being rained on in the wetter months.
